The university surpassed its initial fundraising target of $75 million benefiting Linfield’s people, places and programs. Linfield University on Thursday named Scott Brosius as athletic director. Interim President Rebecca L. Johnson said Brosius rose to the top among a deep pool of candidates to oversee athletics at the 166-year-old university known for the success of its NCAA Division III sports teams. Brosius will begin in the new position on or before May 13. He will replace Doug Hire , who has been serving as interim athletic director through this academic year. Hire, a member of the Linfield Athletics Hall of Fame who has worked in various roles in the athletic department for 24 years, plans to retire at the end of the academic year. Now in its ninth year, the 28-hour event consistently has exceeded its goals — last year, 680 donors gave more than $680,000 to support students, faculty and specific programs , far outpacing the $550,000 goal. The third-annual Camas Festival, runs 11 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Friday, May 10 on Linfield University’s McMinnville campus. It will include food from celebrated Portland pop-up Javelina , an Indigenous Creators’ Market, a panel on historic indigenous food and food sovereignty, a guided artist’s talk from 2024 Indigenous Place Keeping Artist Leland Butler and more. Linfield University remains a leader in its commitment to sustainability. It was no surprise, then, that the university was once again named to The Princeton Review Guide to Green Colleges: 2024 Edition.” The publication has included Linfield among its best green colleges list since its inception in 2010. Continue reading → Posted in Latest News , Linfield University Iván Galicia Sixto earns Fulbright U.S. Student Award for 2024-25 Posted on April 18, 2024 by Kathy Foss Bilingual educator to teach English at Peruvian school Linfield University ‘s Iván Galicia Sixto has received a Fulbright U.S. Student Program award from the U.S. Department of State and the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board. As a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant, he will support the teaching of English in Peru during the 2024-25 academic year. The Linfield student will earn his bachelor’s degree from Linfield in May 2024. He is majoring in Spanish and secondary education with an ESOL endorsement. He previously attended the Academy of International Studies in Woodburn. Linfield has acquired Canva for Campus, granting all full-time Linfield students access to a free personal Canva Pro account. Students are able to utilize this free Canva Pro for their individual work and for collaborating with others in the Linfield community.
